Paralysed dog Lucky is living a HAPPY and SAFE life at VOSD!
What you will learn

Just like any other stray dog in India, Lucky spent her days carefree and happy on the streets of Delhi. But her fate changed for the worse when a truck ran over her, fracturing and twisting her hind legs. A dog lover who spotted this gruesome incident rescued the poor pooch and rushed her to the vet. Even the doctors gave up and advised that Lucky should be put to sleep – but her rescuer wanted to give the dog a chance.

However, looking after a paralysed dog isn’t easy so she wrote to our helpdesk requesting to surrender Lucky. VOSD is India’s largest sanctuary which houses and cares for special needs dogs. We welcomed the sweet dog with open arms and promised to give her a good life.

We got additional x-rays done to see if a surgery or further treatment might help. However, due to the extensive damage we knew that she won’t walk again. So our team is working relentlessly to ensure that Lucky gets the right medical attention to lead a comfortable life at VOSD. She is groomed every day and her her wounds are dressed and taken care of. She has been given a comfortable accommodation at our 10,000 sq ft hospital, and she is on a nutritious diet.

Rescuing special needs dogs is commendable but they need lifelong intensive care if they have to lead a quality life. The VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital strives towards ensuring pooches like Lucky can live with dignity and in good health. Please support us by donating INR 5,000 (~$63) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/. Your contributions can help us save many other vulnerable dogs from across India who need our help.
