What you will learn

Baby was raised by the caretakers of a park. She spent all her life on the premises in their company. The old dog was happy and healthy but most of all she belonged. However, one day the family moved to a new place leaving Baby behind. The ruthless abandonment took a serious toll on her mental health and she drifted into swarms of fear and loneliness. All her emotional pain began manifesting in the form of behavioural aggression. She began charging towards people without any provocation. Park-goers became increasingly wary of her and were ready to take drastic measures.

A kind rescuer was witness to the entire progression of events. He figured that rehabilitation was the only possible solution to Baby’s situation; otherwise, the old dog would meet a very sad end at the hands of the intolerant public. At VOSD we provide a safe and permanent home to dogs who have no hope of surviving on the streets and no chance of getting adopted. Baby was surrendered to us under the ‘Hospice’ category without a surrender fee.

And so, Baby has finally found a new family at VOSD. We hoped that the love and care would help her heal from the gut-wrenching trauma she has endured – as it did! Our caregivers spent time walking and grooming her, which helped her ease into her former beautiful personality. Going by her smiling face, she seems to have placed faith in us and hopefully believes that we will only protect and not harm her. She is happy mingling with other dogs and humans. She is also getting healthy food and regular medical care which will ensure she leads a healthy and happy autumn of life.

Hundreds of abandoned, senior pet dogs like Baby are still suffering on the streets. Will you support us to bring them home and care for them? Please make a donation of INR 5,000 (~$63) towards the food & medical expenses of infirm elderly canines at VOSD. Help VOSD continue to change the lives of dogs for the better. Help us continue to be a permanent home for dogs with no other hope. For further details, please check this link: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/
