The trust that his family broke, weโre re-instilling in Fido.
The safety that they snatched from him, weโre ensuring he always feels.
Tiny boy Fido was mercilessly abandoned by his so-called family. A dog lover happened to see him running around confused and desperately searching for his previous owners. The poor dog was at the risk of being hit by vehicles, or attacked by the other stray dogs, so the kind person decided to foster him. He made multiple attempts to find Fido a suitable adopter, however, no one came forth to give him a home since he is an adult mixed breed dog. Since he couldnโt be released back on the street nor was Fido getting adopted, he was surrendered to VOSD.
He was terrified when he first came in. Our team of caregivers spent days taking him on walks, introducing him to dogs and new people until he began letting his guard down. The first ever friend he made at our sanctuary is Mary, a cruelty survivor, whose leg was slashed by a dog hater. Maybe they understood and bonded over the pain of being abused by some heartless humans.
VOSD makes a lifelong promise to the dogs who we admit that we will be their forever family. They get the best care possible, and tonnes of love and affection. To support the work we do for Indiaโs dogs who canโt survive on the streets or donโt have a home, please donate INR 5,000 ($65) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/.
