Celebrating Tyrus, who gave his parent the freedom to explore all by herself.

Jaclyn Schiemann, who lives with achromatopsia, a rare eye condition causing legal blindness, has found new independence with her guide dog, Tyrus. Since receiving the yellow Labrador in June 2023 through Dogs Inc., Jaclyn has experienced a dramatic shift in her life. Previously hesitant to travel alone, she recently completed her first solo trip to Disney World and has since explored six national parks. She says Tyrus has not only given her confidence but also the courage to step beyond fears that once held her back. For Jaclyn, every journey is proof of the freedom guide dogs bring. Dogs Inc. continues to provide trained guide dogs at no cost, offering life-changing support to visually impaired individuals.
