Dog feeders in Delhi-NCR are still facing threats and brutal attacks. This is happening despite the law being on their side. Authorities continue to monitor these cases.

Days after the Supreme Court modified its order on stray dog management, Delhi-NCR has seen a surge in violent attacks on dog feeders. From Gurugram to Ghaziabad to Paschim Vihar, feeders have been slapped, beaten with sticks, and even threatened with death while feeding strays. Videos circulating online show injured feeders with bloodied clothes and wounds, sparking outrage among animal welfare groups. Activists say the confusion around the SC orderโ€”misinterpreted by many as a โ€œbanโ€ on feedingโ€”has emboldened vigilantes. While the order directs civic bodies to create designated feeding points, these zones are yet to be marked, leaving feeders vulnerable. For many, feeding is not an act of defiance but a lifeline for community dogs now caught in the crossfire.
