Two special needs dogs – rescued by two different people now kept at Mission Paws Kota, Rajasthan. Won’t you help us bring them home to VOSD?

Khushi Shrivastava rescued Moon a puppy who was found with an amputated leg and several injuries. He was treated by someone and was found in a drain with his bandages still on. In that condition surely the puppy had not run away. He was given up! Perhaps the rescuer did not have money to continue the treatment. OR the shelter where he was thought that he would die. But thankfully this miracle baby survived and is safe today waiting to get to his forever home – VOSD Sanctuary and Hospital.

Indrani Halder rescued Champa an old stray dog whose eyes were destroyed by nasty young boys who poured detergent in it to blind her. Poor dog was in a miserable condition with pain and infection but thanks to Indrani her life was saved. Champa is old and blind and needs care for the rest of her life. This baby will be dearly loved and safe with us at the VOSD Sanctuary and Hospital.

Mission Paws, Kota

Tanya Singh is a bright young lady who runs the Mission Paws rescue center for stray dogs. She was a VOSD grantee during the last lockdown and has surrendered dogs to VOSD in the past. We appreciate her good work for the stray dogs of Kota and she stepped in again to take custody of both these dogs, Moon and Champa, and ensure their safe transportation to VOSD Bangalore. Thank you, Tanya and Mission Paws. We are so grateful for your support for these two cruelty survivors!

We have approved the surrender of Moon and Champa to VOSD without any surrender fees. We need your help urgently to raise the transport cost to get them home to the VOSD Sanctuary and Hospital in Bangalore from Kota, Rajasthan. Please make a small donation for these babies today!

Champa - Old Stray Dog Blinded with Detergent

Rescue information as shared by Indrani.

Champa was super playful, happy, and affectionate until a group of boys poured detergent all over her face to intentionally hurt her eyes. That night when she came to us for food, her eyes were red and she was having balance issues. We immediately took her to our neighbouring city and got her checked by a private veterinarian. He said she has developed ulcers and it’ll affect her vision.

It has been 3 months ever since and Champa cannot see. Her vision has constantly been decreasing and now it’s left at 10%. She has been hit multiple times as she cannot navigate her way between vehicles. Living in this small village it’s very difficult to take care of her, people often relocate dogs and there are no doctors or shelters here. Here she will be killed either by those boys or other orthodox villagers. I don’t know what to do, euthanasia isn’t an option for such a lively dog.

Her life changed in one night, that too because some foolish boys wanted to see how a dog goes blind. She deserves so much better.

Moon - Young Accident Vitim Abandoned in a Drain Half Way Through Treatment

Rescue information as shared by Khushi

Moon was found paralysed, abandoned, and abused in a drain. His one leg was missing and the other bandaged with hundreds of maggots. His forehead had a cut and half tail was not there. Government vets suggested euthanasia, they said they cannot treat him because of his aggressive behavior.

He was scared and we took upon the case, got him checked via private vet. They operated on him after a week of antibiotics, his other leg was saved but his backbone doesn’t function.

Now after 2 months, he walks on two sometimes three legs. Wags his half tail to the full extent and is full of love. He cannot be adopted or sent to a shelter because of his special physical and emotional needs, he is easily spooked and needs a loving environment.
