Bhola couldn’t be saved, but his story must spark change against animal cruelty.

In Delhi, Niall Harbison, founder of animal charity Happy Doggo, witnessed a group of men brutally beating a stray dog. Risking his own safety, he stepped in with local activist Ghoshani, who filmed the cruelty and scared the attackers away. The dog, later named Bhola, was rushed to a veterinary clinic with a head injury but no broken bones. Despite receiving care, Bhola passed away four days later. In his memory, Niall funded twenty sterilizations in Delhi to help prevent further suffering among street dogs. The incident highlights the rising violence against strays in India and the urgent need for awareness, compassion, and responsible interventions for vulnerable animals.
