Violence in the name of control, is this really how we treat our dogs?

In North Strabane Township, Pennsylvania, a man allegedly attacked two dogs living in his trailer with a ball-peen hammer on September 4. The accused, 73-year-old Daniel McCullough, reportedly struck Rawhide and Tiny, owned by his housemate, Carol Shrader, while she slept. McCullough claimed he was enforcing a new trailer-park rule limiting residents to two dogs. Tragically, Rawhideโ€™s body was discarded in the trash. Tiny, however, survived and was rescued by a neighbor, Charles Burnsworth, who brought her to the Washington Area Humane Society. After treatment, Tiny was adopted by Burnsworth and is now thriving in her new home. McCullough faces felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges, while the two remaining dogs have been removed from his property.
