Little puppy Holly was found severely injured in a deserted area in Bengaluru. She had been hit by a speeding mini truck. Holly’s sister Willow, who was also limping, was found next to her. A kind rescuer took both pups to a vet where it was revealed that Holly had suffered multiple fractures; her treatment was started promptly and the rescuer began fostering both puppies. A few days later, doctors informed that Holly would require an FHO surgery to restore pain-free mobility in her damaged hip. The procedure was performed successfully and the little dog healed well.
Post recovery, the rescuer continued to foster both pups and also put them up for adoption. When no one responded to the appeals, he decided to surrender them to VOSD since the girls had no street-survival skills.
Holly and Willow came to us as sub-adults and like all young dogs they brought with them happiness. We are grateful for their energy and they also love to run, jump and play with us all day long. The happy, voracious eaters are really happy to be with us and eager to embrace a future full of joy and hope.
The brutal accident could have resulted in an agonising destiny but the gods changed their minds; and today both sisters have a loving home and the opportunity to live out their best lives.
Road accidents leave multitudes of street animals manled and wounded; what follows is a slow, painful death. Help us bring more accident survivors like Holly and Willow to the safety of VOSD by donating INR 5,000 (~$61) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/
