Haider was born 1600km from Bangalore in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh in Central India. He was about 4-5 months old when in an accident, he lost his upper jaw. He was critical but a rescuer on location picked him up and contacted VOSD. VOSD guided his survival and arranged for him to come to Bangalore first from Chattisgarh to Nagpur then on a train from Nagpur to Bangalore. He not only survived, the thrived. This is not only his story but also demonstrates the VOSD Level of Care that allows 1,800 dogs, all of whom faced certain death without VOSD, to live their best lives at the largest no-kill facility in the world, with India’s largest referral hospital for dogs, and India’s largest single team of dog caregivers. In supporting Haider you support his 1,800 friends
Haider is one of the healthiest and happiest dogs at VOSD. The resourceful snoutless dog has learnt to eat his meals by lapping up his food and pushing it in with his paw. Haider loves playing with dogs and is extremely friendly with people. Life at VOSD has helped him forget his traumatic past and that he is a special-needs dog; he prances around like regular, playful, beautiful dogs.
Like all senior dogs, Haider goes for regular medical check-ups. Three years ago, routine tests revealed that Haider developed age-related liver and kidney issues. So, he has been on relevant medication since then. Apart from that, he is in great shape for an 11-year-old dog.
Haider spends his day lounging about and playing with other dogs – his best friends are Preeti and Biscuit. The boy loves to sunbathe and eventually falls asleep after he has eaten and played to his heart’s content. Help VOSD save more dogs like Haider, who wouldn’t have survived, let alone experienced the good life, on the streets. Please consider a one-time or monthly gift of INR 5,000 (~$61) to support his medical and food bills.
