ABANDONED ONE-EYED PET DOG FINDS PERMANENT HOME AT VOSD

For reasons unknown, a family in Bengaluru abandoned their pet dog on the streets three years ago. Thankfully, the neighbors continued caring for him so he didn’t feel the loss of his family. But Jimmy being the sweet-natured dog that he is, couldn’t defend himself from attacks by other stray dogs during territorial fights. He would often end up with a cut on his ear or could be seen limping.

Things took a turn for the worse a few months ago when an infection affected his eye due to which it had to be surgically removed. The loss of his eye made Jimmy even more fearful of surviving on the streets and the attacks from the other healthier dogs became relentless. The neighborhood was no longer safe for Jimmy so his caretaker requested VOSD to admit him.

It was love at first sight for his caregivers the moment Jimmy reached the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. His pleasant demeanor and adorable expressions melted their hearts! He took to his new home like a fish to water and settled in right away. He enjoys lounging about through the day or greeting people. He also loves his meal time which he eagerly awaits. It’s heart-warming to see that our other dogs too have warmed up to Jimmy and they co-exist in harmony.

Jimmy lost an eye and nearly lost his life too – it was evident he lacked the street survival skills since he was used to being a pet dog. If not for his kind neighbors, he would’ve met an extremely painful end. Now, he’s safe and happy at the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. Hundreds of other abandoned pet dogs also live at the sanctuary – we provide them with wholesome food, medical care, accommodation, and companionship. We urge you to support the food & medical bills of Jimmy and his friends by donating INR 5,000 (~$61) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/ Your contributions can help save the life of a dog without a home or hope!

If you know of any abandoned pets in need of care, you can surrender them to VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. For more information you can write to us at info@vosd.in.
