Raji was living the regular life of a stray dog until the day she got into a near-fatal accident. Luckily, she was promptly rescued by a few kind people who got her emergency treatment. After months of rigorous medical interventions, Raji recovered, but the sweet child lost her eyesight. She couldn’t be released back on the dangerous streets due to her new disability, so she was surrendered to VOSD.

We were very happy to welcome Raji into her new home. It’s been two years since Raji came into our lives, and they’ve been glorious. Raji harbours ambitions of becoming a professional singer one day; she practices her craft at the crack of dawn every day and inspires her friends to join in—they belt out a lovely tune; we call it the Morning Raji Raga.

Raji is very affectionate and loves being around people. The placid dog doesn’t let her handicap get in the way of the expression of her exploratory instincts; she has adapted very well to a life without light and navigates her surroundings beautifully. She also gets liver supplements to help maintain her overall health and aid digestion.

Raji has made friends with Tulip and Lal Bella, who are blind just like her. They watch out for one another and support their unsighted friends. So, that’s Raji’s life at VOSD—full of love, health, and song.
