Dog Waits for Parent in Landslide
What you will learn

After a horrible landslide tragedy in Munnar this month, a dog was spotted among the ruins, waiting for his master.

Over fifteen people died and 80 went missing in a tea plantation estate area near Munnar in Idukki district, Kerala. Due to heavy rainfall in the area, the labourers working in the plantation got covered in soil from a big landslide that occurred in the wee hours of the morning. Many bodies are still being recovered from the site.

In the midst of this tragedy, there was one dog that stood out to the rescue service team. Nobody knows how the dog survived the landslide. People attempted to feed and shelter the dog but curiously enough, the dog refused to budge from his spot and was hesitant to eat anything.

Authorities believe that the dog is possibly missing his owner. An owner who could be lost forever due to the tragedy.

The dog is also known to try and lead the rescue team to spots hoping to find his owner. The dog survived even though people have unearthed cattle, cars, bikes, and other debris over four estate lanes that got wiped out by the landslide.
