After battling with depression and paralysis, Archie now runs free at VOSD

A tiny puppy was found in RR Nagar, Bengaluru, with open wounds โ€“ the causes of which are unknown. After he was treated, he was being fostered by a dog lover in the locality. Unfortunately, he got attacked by a pet dog that has a history of attacking, but whose owners were callous and left their gate open. Post attack, one of his legs was paralysed.

โ€˜Archieโ€™ was first treated for a week at the foster care subsequently admitted to a clinic where he underwent oil massage and laser therapy. Unfortunately, his health began deteriorating causing paralysis in both hind legs. His attitude also had a marked difference โ€“ he was inactive and depressed due to his condition and the lack of a loving home. Fearing for the puppyโ€™s life, he was surrendered to VOSD for lifelong care.

Archie was started on joint and nerve supplements, along with daily exercises and various forms of therapy for his hind legs. Within a short span of two weeks he has not only began walking but running tooโ€ฆ especially behind the human who has the maximum treats to offer! While there is a long way to go for him to heal completely, weโ€™re optimistic, as is he, that he will grow into a healthy and handsome dog soon!
